"Things are pretty good down here in Waveland. It's really crazy. We were biking yesterday and the whole town is still trashed from Katrina. Everyone we talk to for more then half hour, they bring up the storm. I am actually emailing from the library which is a trailer. It's really crazy. It's hard to tract because a lot of houses are abandoned. But it was nice to see the beach, too bad it is the gulf of Mexico because it's so dirty. The area has been really slow as of late but hopefully we can get it going.
The van ride wasn't to bad to get down here. Although we did have to stop every two hours and stay there for 15 to 30 minutes because of stupid missionary stuff. But not to bad.
I am still senior and have been for 7 months. Oh yeah, my comp is Elder Uber. He is from Pennsylvania, about one hour north of Pittsburgh. He is a big boy, a little shorter than me but wider. He has been out about 8 months. "
Trent also reports that the ward in Waveland has about 100 people in it. The area is about 30 miles around where he is. They do have a car but can only use it for 750 miles a month. He is about 1 mile away from the gulf. It sounds like it's been a real slow area but he's ready to "get it going".

It sounds like Trent may not need to wish for a hurricane so he has service opportunities...they're already available.
That's crazy that things are still so bad since Katrina. What a great experience to witness it and try to help the people who went through it!
Sounds like a good place to find humble people. I know Trent will get it all going!!
